Dear Friends,

This past year or so of blogging has totally changed my life, having communicated with some of you whom I will never meet face to face and those of you whom it may be a possibility someday because you live nearby.  Wherever you live, you’ve continued to be a great source of inspiration and support for me during those times when you have no idea just how bad I needed it.  You really have kept me going.  That’s why it hurts me to say that at least for the next month, if not longer, I will be taking the blog offline so that it doesn’t appear abandoned and unfinished,  and does not leave me looking like someone who just up and quit.  Right now my focus has to be on my health, home and family. My home needs work that I can do, and I need to spend more time with family.  At night when the house is quiet, I will be working on the website so that I can relaunch it at a better time. 

I hope to have everything completed by the end of September.  My 31st birthday is September 26, and I’m hoping that (God willing I see that day) by then we’ll have a treatment plan in place and my pain management will also be regimented.  The pain management has been rough, as I just came off a 2 1/2 week flare up that was pure misery.  I am hoping we can get to the bottom of the reason for that pain, or if it is just 30 years of sitting and being too fat.  The weight loss surgery…I’ll have to figure that out and I’ll let you know if it’s going to happen.

To all of you who have sent e-mail, left comments, entered my contests or just had generally nice things to say, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You made me realize that there are still wonderful people in this world.

Please keep this website bookmarked, and I will e-mail some of you when I get the site back up and running.  I just don’t have the energy to get it caught up in such a hurry for it to be useful for you all so this makes more sense.

You may still hear from me, for those of you who have e-mailed me.  You may even get coupons or something in the mail someday   If I still, yes, still, owe you a prize, then I will someday get that to you if I sponsored the contest. 

To sum it all up, thank you.  I look forward to “seeing” you all again soon!

I thought i’d let y’all know I’m still alive!  I’e been working out a lot of health problems that I’m still working out, but i’m finally at a point when I can occasionally leave the house and my pain medication making me act nutty!  Well, the Dr. had to adjust them again because I had some flare ups, so I’e had to take some time to get used to the side effects.

Anyway, I’m going to get the blog back up and going starting Sunday, God willing, because I’ve missed it andw y’all reallybad!

I’m really hoping you like the changes we make, and i hope you like the new site too!!

Hey everyone!

I just wanted you to know that we’re still alive but we haven’t had any internet or phone in about a week for more than an hour or so.  You know I do the majority of my blogging at night, but for some reason Charter Communications phone and internet lines are going out about 9 PM at night and don’t come back on til sometime the next day, if we’re lucky!  We’ve had technicians at our home every single day but they haven’t been able to fix anything and the people that can haven’t been willing to show up.

If we don’t havev internet and phone service that’s reliable by tomorrow we’ll be looking at other providers.  Our entire road is having these problems, so I’m not sure why they don’t seem to care.  The last few days we’ve experienced problems throughout the day as well, and we’ve been given excuses about it being heat related but still not fixed.  I guess it’ll be fixed when they decide how important to them our road is to their profit.  I’ve never seen a company with this terrible service before. 

Other than that, I’ve been experiencing the worst pain of my life so during the day I spend it sitting really still and trying not to move     I hope this too shall pass soon.

I will be back to start posting deals and grocery matches as soon as my pain subsides and we have internet service.  At this point, we’ll be better off with a landline phone and with dial-up internet than Charter Communications.  If you live in a rural area, I cannot recommend them to you because they don’t seem to put your area as a priority.  Look for all other options before you choose Charter!

I promised you guys a virtual coupon classs, and I have every intention on delivering that promise.  But I’m in limbo right now about keeping this blog, starting fresh with the new one or keeping them both and doing various things with them. 

One thought I had was to turn Making Cents Out of Life into a complete Personal Finance book wth, well, every other way under the sun to save or make money other than coupons.  Couponing for Christmas will have anything and everything to do with coupons on it, and any proceeds made by November 15 will be taken to adopt as many children as possible from the Salvation Army Angel Tree as well as some elderly people from a nearby charity to provide Christmas for them. 

I will have many (I hope) affiliate shopping links on each site, so if you would do your shopping through my site I would GREATLY appreciate it.  You aren’t paying me, you’re giving children a special Christmas as well as just the basic fees for running the blog (the yearly fees for hosting and the domain but the cost is fairly low).

I would also LOVE to get some guest writers for my site.  You absolutely do NOT have to be a blogger to do this.  I don’t have kids, so I don’t have experience with any aspect of raising a kid and would love if if some of you would write sme posts for me about the subject.  A couple of topics I’m interested in, because I’ve read others asking about the topics, are saving money when raising 3+ children (especially during school), healthy eating on a budget for a large family, and I would love to get a guest blogger to write a post about electronic (e-coupons) coupons.  We do not have anywhere to use those around our home, so i’m fairly unfamiliar with them.  I know basic principles, and can rewrite info, but what I’m looking for is experience using them.

Believe me I am working behind the scenes even though I barely blog.-  just not as much as I should because I just honestly am not up to it right now.  I am giving myself until Sunday and doing some things around the house in the meantime.

Hi Everyone,

I am sorry that I haven’t been around much the last few weeks.  There’ve been a lot of health issues I’ve been dealing with, and they haven’t left me with the energy to do much.  The depression gets the rest of me.  I just got through with an outpatient procedure that shouldn’t have happened, and it has taken a bigger toll on me than I thought it would.  I’ve done nothing but sleep since Saturday until today.  I felt better on the way home Friday at midnight than I have the rest of the week.  Anyway, I just wanted you to know I’m not brushing the site off for nothing.  Starting this blog was the most fun thing I have done in a long time, and has given me something to look forward to for a long time.  I haven’t made money off of it, but I made friends that mean more than money can buy!!  You know who you are.

I am contemplating closing down this site.  I’m just unhappy with a lot of things about it, and I’m so far behind with what I wanted to do with it that I will never be able to “fix” things.  Basically I need a fresh start, which is what I’m contemplating as well.  I have a site I let a lot of you know about before called Couponing for Christmas, although there’s nothing there just yet.  I will do a lot of the same things as here, but I will be starting it the right way, with things that will let a beginner come here and know how to use a coupon. 

I have to contact my affiliates to see how it will affect my relationships with them.  If I have to start from scratch with those as well, I may still do it although that’s not appealing.  But since I’ve had this site for over a year I have learned so much about what I want my site to be and this isn’t cutting it.  The new site will have a link to this blog, and you’ll be able to go here and read past posts if you want to.  I’ll even be re-directing people who come here to the new site for awhile if I decide to shut this site down.  Eventually Making Cents Out of Life will go away.

I have a lot of reasons for Couponing for Christmas, but my main mission is to try to make money to donate to organizations who provide children with Christmas, and Christmas for the elderly.  One of my missions is to spend money on items for nursing home residents so that they may have something to open on Christmas morning.  So many of them do no thave families who can do this, and I cannot imagine being alone on Christmas day.  I’m not creating the site for profit.

I may keep Making Cents Out of Life going, and do different things on both sites.  If I can get organized, which would mean taking a week off from blogging and NOT being sick, I could easily do that and it would make things much more smooth. 

I have lots of options.  Right now I’m just upset that I let something I was so proud of and was trying so hard to do well go from getting successful to doing poorly and helping nobody. 

So what I’m going to tell you is this.  I’m going to be doing a lot of different things to the blog, but not really posting much, until next week when I let you know what’s going on.  I have a lot of doctor’s appointments between now and then, so I have to do this in my “spare” time.   I’m trying to get my life back, little by little, so please bare with me.  I have piles of coupons, uncut and unsorted, from about 6 months, and I have piles of magazines and haven’t shopped in months…..all things I never thought would happen.  It’s time I get started, huh?

Thank you for reading my soap box sob story, and I hope that you will please subscribe to my new site when the time comes because it would mean a lot to have your support.  I’m excited about whatever the future brings, if I can just get a tiny bit of my life back.  Having you all around as the support system you’ve been helps soooooooooooo much.  Again, you know who you are   and I owe you all a big virtual hug.

Hi All,

I will be posting normally again in a couple of days, God willing.  I’m not sure what the future holds, hopefullly no more ER visits gone bad but whatever God has in sore for me I will get through.  God bless him, my husband has had just as rough a time as I have had, although I got cut and stuck , I’m just not sure which end I’d rather have.  I at least got the good meds!

Anyway, as soon as I’m up to it and this infection is gone, I’ll be back to posting.  I’ve missed it, whether or not anybody is reading!  I’m going to try to have a special giveaway for my loyal readers becausae I know there are some of you who stop by and leave encouraging messages regardless of my posting.  Love you girls!

Hey everyone! This is Michael (Kristin’s husband)

First off, I hope all is well for everyone today! It’s been rainy here all day, and we’re stuck in the house! Yuck! Anyway, the reason I am posting here is to let everyone know that Kristin won’t be around for a couple of days. Yesterday she had to have emergency surgery. Everything is fine, she is OK and is home. However, she just won’t be feeling like blogging for a couple of days. You know how it is after you’ve been put to sleep.. takes a day or two to shake that “out of it” feeling!

She wanted me to make a quick post and let everyone know what was going on; that she was ok, and that it may be a couple of days before regular posting resumes.

I just wanted to let y’all know that posting will probably be light til around Sunday or Monday.  I had my MRI and some wound care this week and it took it’s serious toll on me.  My pain level skyrocketed because now there’s somewhere else to hurt, but it’ll go away in a day or two I hope. 

I PROMISE grocery matches will start as of Sunday, and I’ll even post some for this week if I feel like getting to it later today.  I haven’t shopped myself so I haven’t done any at all.  I’m tired of frozen pizza, McDonald’s and take-out salads so I’m about ready to go grocery sshopping.  Right now a big ol’ turkey burger is sounding good but the really lean meat is too hard to find, so I’ll have to wait on that.  Oh well, dontcha love how a craving will hit at 4AM?  Normal people are asleep but then there’s me…I went to bed at 8:15 so this is what I get!

I am seriously trying to get grocery ads up for you all.  It’s only going to be Food world and Piggly Wiggly this week I am afraid, unless I can find time to do the rest.  Right now my posts aren’t being found, and I’m having internet problems again.  Obviously it wasn’t our modem and we’re just out $50.

So if there’s anybody whos till comes here for deals, since I haven’t posted any in a long time, come back next week.  I’m going to try to do a site relaunch in a few weeks so by next week I will be doing more deals and adsd and all you need.  I’ve had more health issues and things to deal with than I’ve talked to y’all about, so that’s why I haven’t been around much.  I’m back and ready to dive back in when all is fixed so please don’t give up on me.

When the deals start coming back, please share the site with friends and co-workers so I can offer you more deals and giveaways.  I have one coming up and a few other things to finish.

There was no question about that purchase.  My internet is my lifeline to the rest of the world, it saeems, so of course it was a necessity when I woke up yesterday to finish the rest of the grocery ads to find that our internet was not working.

We were fully ready and willing to blame our internet service provider, because we did call them since we’d had so much trouble a month ago…remember the 7 technicians and all..yeah fun times.  Well my mom had service, there was no outage, the bill was paid, so we did a few more things, and it was finally determined that we had a broken modem. 

So anyway, all is well but the grocery ads won’t be up until late tonight or early morning Saturday because I have a doctor’s appointment.  More fun times! My life is full of ‘em lately.

I apologize for the inconvenience.  I will have to nap when I get home, then my fingers are all yours for the typing of the ads.  Food World is almost finished, but I had to go to bed before I could complete it.  Piggly Wiggly and Foos Land shouln’t take too long. 

They willl happen this week!  At least one storee, but hopefully all 3 will be done this week.  Next week I will be more prepared, I promise, God willing.
