If you want to shop at Publix, and never have, here are some tips:

1.  Publix doubles coupons up to and including $.50 every day unless you live in select GA or FL locations.
2.  When an item is on a BOGO sale (buy 1, get 1 free), you can get each item at half price unless you live in the previously mentioned areas.  Then, your BOGOs will ring up full price, then the 2nd item at free.  This could sometimes work to your advantage.
3.  When you have a BOGO item you can use one coupon per item, unless of course you live in certain GA or FL parts, since each item rings up half.
4.  Publix will accept competitor coupons but you must call to find out what your store considers competitors.  It’s a YMMV.  Most will no longer consider drugstores as competitors even though they carry food.
5.  Publix allows you to STACK one manufacturer’s coupon with one store coupon, or competitor coupon, to maximize your savings.
6.  Publix accepts IPs (printable coupons).

Look through your ad to see if there’s anything I missed.  If you do find something, use the coupon database at A Full Cup to find the latest coupons or see if there’s a deal going on for that product.  It’s my saving grace when I do coupon matches!  T0 get the best variety of printable coupons, Coupons.com is your place to be!

Th e Publix Penny Item for  December 13 and 14, Sunday and Monday, is Publix hot chocolate.  Did you know a store did not want to share this information with me over the phone?  It was a store in Huntsville, AL, and even when I explained to her that I lived an hour away it made no difference.  I’d never been told that before, and when I called my normal st ore they told me without any problems! Have you ever had that problem?  I wanted to know early enough that I could let you know, which didn’t work out anyway because my website host has been having problems all day.  I just wanted to share my day with you!

So the Publix Penny item this week is Publix hot chocolate, but some stores may differ because managers can change their item.  You must reach $10 before coupons to reach $10 so that makes it very easy to spend very littie out of pocket and come out with a LOT of food.  Also, they may require the coupon from the newspaper to get your penny item.  I often don’t even get the flier with the penny item coupon in my newspaper so tell them that if you don’t as well.

Here is my scenario for reaching $10 and getting $.01 hot chocolate.  Break your transactions up into increments of $10 to get lots!

Here’s what’s in the Yellow Advantage Flier with manufacturer’s coupons.  The flier is a mixture of both Publix store coupons and manufacturer’s coupons so keep in mind that you can “stack” a manufacturer’s coupon and a store coupon for the best deal.  Publix doubles manufacturer’s coupons up to and including $.50.  I just realized I hadn’t posted this week’s ad so that’s coming up, but it’s just in time for this!  I’m just glad they were nice enough to give me one of these, since they weren’t available yet!

The way I am handling grocery store matches is going to change, especially since I haven’t been doing them much at all any more due to the other big deals.  I am going to start highlighting all of the under $1 deals for Publix beginning this week (sorry I’m late) and to some of the other grocery stores.  I apologize that I haven’t done store matches in awhile.  I’ll be doing complete matches for CVS and Walgreens, and “hopefully” Rite Aid especially after the holidays and may change this as well but for now this is the best say I can do this.  I will point you in the direction of BeCentsable’s Grocery Gathering for the rest of the grocery deals.  They have dozens of blogs doing store matches so you should find the one you need.

The Publix Penny Item for Sunday and Monday (November 22-23) is Publix sliced cheese.  Remember to get this penny item, your purchase must total $10 BEFORE manufacturer’s coupons. This means that you could walk out of Publix with some sweet deals.

Since I didn’t do much in the way of helping you with Publix deals this week, I thought I’d put together a great scenario for you so you can get your cheese and some other great stuff for as little OOP (out of pocket) as possible.  Remember that Publix doubles coupons up to and including $.50 every day, and you can “stack” a Publix and a manufacturer’s coupon to get a better deal!  When there’s a BOGO item you do not have to buy both items to get the deal because each item rings up half price.

Total before manufacturer’s coupons: $14.17 -  This allows for someone who can’t find all the deals to still reach a $10 threshold.  Keep a calculator with you because your prices might be a few pennies different than mine (regional offers).  I know that a lot of people don’t want to buy 4 Idahoan potatoes, as well, so that’s the other reason I added in that many more deals.

Total After Manufacturer’s Coupons: $3.76 plus tax (in AL, you’d pay tax on $14.17- it makes no sense)

You can easily just get the “FREE” BOGO deals to reach a $10 limit, but if you’re like my family you’d end up with a bunch you don’t need.  With this scenario you have a nice variety of items you can use for Thanksgiving or any other day of the year.

Tips for shopping at Publix:

• Publix doubles manufacturer’s coupons up to and including $.50 every day.
• Publix allows you to stack one store (Publix or competitor) coupon with one manufacturer’s coupon PER item.
• If an item is on sale Buy 1 Get 1 Free, you do not have to buy 2 items to get the discount unless you live in select areas.
• Publix does accept competitor’s coupons, but you need to call ahead when planning your trip to determine what the competitors are for your store because that’s at management’s discretion.

Also keep in mind that prices vary by a few cents depending on the area in which you live; my prices may be higher or lower than yours, so your overall shopping totals may differ but the deals should all be the same. As always, check your local ad in case I missed something you need!

I will put the price for a single item (pre-coupon) in parenthesis beside the BOGO price so that you can plan if you only need 1. BOGO sales are a great opportunity to stockpile!

This week’s Publix matches are coming from I Heart Publix. The week got away from me and I simply forgot to do them! I’m so glad there are people like Michelle to work so hard and match them up! It looks like a decent week, and I adore shopping at Publix!

Tips for shopping at Publix:

1. Publix doubles manufacturer’s coupons up to and including $.50 every day!

2. Publix allows you to “stack” one manufacturer’s coupon and one Publix store coupon for each item when applicable.

3. Publix accepts competitor’s coupons but it is up to your lcoal store who they consider competitors. Most stores will not accept drug stores as competitors; make sure you call ahead to plan your trip!

4. When an item is on sale Buy 1 Get 1 Free, you do not have to buy both items to get the discount. Each will ring up half price, so you can use a manufacturer’s coupon and a store coupon on each item.

This is a great week at Publix!! There are tons of freebies using current coupons, for those of you who don’t have a very large stash of coupons saved up. You can stockpile cereal for next to nothing!

Here are this week’s best Publix deals that I see. If you have never shopped at your local Publix before because you believe their prices are too high, I want to show you otherwise! Learning how to shop at your local stores is key to saving money, and Publix is one of those places where you can really score with a little planning and organization!

There are tons of organic deals this week! This is the first time I’ve seen so many organic deals in one week, and I think you will be quite pleased and surprised if you think that coupons and sales only apply to “unhealthy, processed food”.

Here are the color codes for my post for easily looking over the deals. Any completely free deals will be in bold so you can see them easier as well. Tell me if it helps

Red- printable coupon links
Black- Coupon inserts
Green- Store coupons or coupons from Publix booklets
Purple- Other coupons (magazine, tearpads, etc)

Take a look at your own ad for actual item prices; I have noticed that my matches somewhat differ from other bloggers’ matches by a few cents.

Finally, there are a few things to remember when you shop at Publix:

• Publix, unless you’re in coastal GA or FL, double manufacturer’s coupon up to and including $.50 every day, no limit!
• Publix accepts competitor’s coupons, but it is up to the management of each store whom is considered competitors. Most stores do not consider drugstores competitors.
• Publix allows you to “stack” one store (Publix) coupon with one manufacturer’s coupon where applicable.
• If an item is a part of a Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale, each item rings up half price. Therefore, you can use one manufacturer’s coupon and one store coupon PER item. You are not required to buy 2 items to get the discount.
• Ask for a rain check for any items that are out of stock! You never know when a coupon will become available for an item that the store is out of stock on that week to make the item free or close to free with the sale price, especially the BOGO prices.
