I want to apologize for not getting the drugstore deals out any sooner.  I thought I would be able to get them out myself but my pain had me out of commission for too long, and I have too much to catch up on to do these lists. I absolutely have to do my grocery store matches, because no other blogger does my stores, but Lori does an amazing job with drugstore deals so you’ll be in great hands.  Please come join me later for our local Alabama grocery deals!

You can find this week’s CVS deals from Lori at Moms by Heart by visiting her CVS deals here.

You can find this week’s Walgreens deals from Moms by Heart as well!

  1.  I appreciate Lori’s matches because I’m aware of how much work she puts into the ads; it’s tedious and very labor intensive to do matches the way she does them so please stop by and say hello when you read the meatches and let her know where you came from (here lol).  Please let me know if there are any great deals I’m missing!  Ive been trying to catch up on life, so I haven’t had time to touch a coupon lately :) )

Here’s another SUPER FRUGAL Valentine’s Day gift for you to give that special someone.  Walgreens is offering a FREE 8X10 Collage print on Friday February 12!

To get your free 8X10 collage print just go here on Friday February 12, and enter code VDAY at check out.  Choose in-store pick up so it’s totally free!  Limit 1 per customer!!

You could get a nice frame and really make that a special Valentine’s Day gift that your sweetie, family member or other loved one will always cherish.  I’ve ordered the collage prints before and they really turn out nicely if you choose good quality pictures and a good background.  They’re fun to play with and design.  I’m easily amused, can you tell?

Walgreens is my Valentine this year I think!  I’m lovin’ this deal.  OK, well that’s too cheesy for me but I do love  these savings! Friday, February 12  is the Friends and Familly Event.  Print this coupon and you’ll get 15% off all eligible store items and 20% off Walgreens and W brand items!!

Would you rather save your ink?  Simply text HEART to 21525 and your coupon will be delivered to your mobile device.  You’ll also receive other special offers.  All you have to do is show your mobile coupon to whomever is working at the photo or cosmetics counter.

The print on the actual coupon is too small for me to read but the last time i wanted to use one of these coupons I had to use it at those counters and didn’t get the discount.  If you have a hard time reading the coupon just ask before you check out. Hindsight is 20/20 and I tend to learn the hard way.

post it note

Since I haven’t yet felt like glancing at the store ads this week I wanted to go ahead and tell you that I’m not going to be posting the drugstore ads for the week.

You can find CVS and Walgreens store deals for the week at Moms by Heart.  You can find Rite Aid deals at Southern Savers.  Let me know if you have any trouble with those links.

I will still have our local ads posted this week as well as a new one or two I hope! My sleep schedule is extremely messed up so most of my posting and other things get done late at night.  If you e-mail me and I don’t get back to you until late at night that’s why.  I’m still trying to share everything I can with you, and when I find good deals I’m going to do my best to pass it on to you.

Thank you for baring with me through the last couple of weeks.  I know I keep saying it but I appreciate all of you, and better things are coming.  I really love having my blog to look forward to, and knowing one or two people benefit from it really makes it worthwhile to me :)   So thank you!

If there’s anything I can post for you, any blog ideas or tips you have, feel free to e-mail me at makingcentsoutoflife (at) gmail (d0t) com.   I have a stack of things to write about but I’d love to add your ideas to the stack.  If you’ve asked for something but haven’t seen it, I promise I haven’t forgotten.  I’m just slow :) and addicted to smileys apparently :)

The Walgreens deals this week are courtesy of Lori at Moms by Heart.  Today marks the star of a new month at Walgreens, so you should find a February coupon booklet near your weekly ads.   You can find a preview of it here.

You can see the full ad scan courtesy of I Heart Wags, as well as some bonus printable coupons that don’t expire until the end of the month!

I was excited to notice a few freebies in their ad, and I picked out a few of my favorites.  For the rest of the best, see Lori’s post!

Select General Mills Cereal 2/$5 (possibly a better deal, keep eye out!)
Use $2/2 GM Cheerios printable here or here or here
Final Cost: 2/$3 or $1.50 each (almost my target price!)

Bertolli Frozen Meals $5.99
Use $1/ 1 Bertolli 12/6 RP
Final Cost: $4.99

Select Cereals 4.25-9.25 oz. $1 (I’ve seen Shredded Wheat, Alphabits)
Use $2/2 Post printable for signing up for newsletter
Final Cost: Free (buy 2 boxes so coupon wont’ beep- you won’t get overage anyway)

Toblerone candy bar 2/$2
Use $1/2 Toblerone from February Coupon Booklet
Final Cost: $.50 each!

There are tons of hot deals, but I’m a little behind on everything so I’m going to refer you to Lori’s post for the rest of these.  I haven’t been around much the last few days because I’ve been sick so I have a lot to catch up on! Lori’s got the lowdown on some awesome Walgreens deals!

These are my favorite Walgreens deals this week, courtesy of Lori at Moms by Heart.  She has graciously agreed to provide matches for us each week, so what I will do is select my favorites and refer you to her post for the rest.  Thanks, Lori!

**I changed a bit of the wording on a few of these because it sort of flows with the way I word the rest of my matches for the other stores I do  I will be doing several tutorials this week, God willing,  so if you don’t understand some terms you will by the end of the week.  If you need to know anything now please leave a comment and I’ll answer anything you need to know (including why I have so many typos, and the quick answer is that I get in a hurry and my spell check doesn’t catch real words!).

Since I will be working on the Walgreens shopping guide (will be done by the end of the week again God willing!), I did not change all of the wording.  You should learn to read blogs that provide the store match ups for saving the most money.  Plus, I’m exhausted from doing matches, so I ended up at the end leaving the wording as is.

Lori, thanks again!

Once again, I did not do match ups.  This is on my list of “get ‘er done”  tasks that I will accomplish soon but not while out of town.  We are spending time with our family, and that’s more important than doing Walgreens matches.  I had every intention of resuming all blog series’ this week as well as regular features but the visit and holidays were quiet hectic but fun!!

I’ll do a list of faves today sometime, like I said earlier, but for now check out The Swag Grabber for this week’s hottest deals!!  That site rocks!

Walgreens: Hot Clearance Find Today!!

wagslogo

I found a HOT HOT HOT deal tonight at one of the seemingly thousands of Walgreens in the Birmingham, Alabama area.  I’d happened upon a heaping pile of sweatshirts, pretty plain and not the most attractive of colors, marked 3/$10.  Well, my husband packed for us (he has to do a lot of the things wives would normally do in a marriage with our situation) but didn’t pack enough really warm shirts for either of us.  We weren’t going to stay as long as it is ending up we are staying.  OK that sentence totally was grammatically incorrect but I’m not changing it; that is how I sound in real life but a lot more annoying.

Anyway, we found 3 sweatshirts in a heather grey color, 2 in a size we could share and one for my father-in-law who’s starting a new construction job next week and it’s too cold.  Well, we got up to the register and I noticed the price when she rang up the first one.  I was already having buyer’s remorse because I could have probably found a better one just as cheap at Target…

The price was 99 cents!  Yeah, each one rang up 99 cents.  They weren’t marked or tagged or anything- it appeared that they were the full price.  Needless to say we bought more (pics will be on the post tomorrow- my camera is another thing MT didn’t bother to pack!).  I bought my brother one with a half-zip neck to wear around his house when it gets cold so he won’t have to pay a big electric bill.  I bought a few extra to possibly give to family who can wear them or to donate them to kids at my mom’s school who need warm clothes.  A lot of the bigger kids can wear a small.

We didn’t buy them all but we came close.  It turns out the cashier said they were from last year, and they’d been trying to get rid of them for awhile.  OK, the marketing brain in my head is asking why they didn’t advertise the 99 cent price.  The smart little voice inside my head is telling me to shut up and be thankful!

Moral of the story?  Go scout out Walgreens in your area.  Scan the sweatshirts you see; they just might be cheaper than they’re marked!  I do wish we had bought them all as it was apparent they weren’t going to sell at 3/$10- I may go back tomorrow and get what’s left…2-3 maybe :)   What do you think?

**By the way, store matches will come tonight after I get my ad.  My eyes hurt and I can’t focus on the online version too well.  Look for them super late, it may do you more justice to check Monday morning.
