Hi Everyone,
I am sorry that I haven’t been around much the last few weeks. There’ve been a lot of health issues I’ve been dealing with, and they haven’t left me with the energy to do much. The depression gets the rest of me. I just got through with an outpatient procedure that shouldn’t have happened, and it has taken a bigger toll on me than I thought it would. I’ve done nothing but sleep since Saturday until today. I felt better on the way home Friday at midnight than I have the rest of the week. Anyway, I just wanted you to know I’m not brushing the site off for nothing. Starting this blog was the most fun thing I have done in a long time, and has given me something to look forward to for a long time. I haven’t made money off of it, but I made friends that mean more than money can buy!! You know who you are.
I am contemplating closing down this site. I’m just unhappy with a lot of things about it, and I’m so far behind with what I wanted to do with it that I will never be able to “fix” things. Basically I need a fresh start, which is what I’m contemplating as well. I have a site I let a lot of you know about before called Couponing for Christmas, although there’s nothing there just yet. I will do a lot of the same things as here, but I will be starting it the right way, with things that will let a beginner come here and know how to use a coupon.
I have to contact my affiliates to see how it will affect my relationships with them. If I have to start from scratch with those as well, I may still do it although that’s not appealing. But since I’ve had this site for over a year I have learned so much about what I want my site to be and this isn’t cutting it. The new site will have a link to this blog, and you’ll be able to go here and read past posts if you want to. I’ll even be re-directing people who come here to the new site for awhile if I decide to shut this site down. Eventually Making Cents Out of Life will go away.
I have a lot of reasons for Couponing for Christmas, but my main mission is to try to make money to donate to organizations who provide children with Christmas, and Christmas for the elderly. One of my missions is to spend money on items for nursing home residents so that they may have something to open on Christmas morning. So many of them do no thave families who can do this, and I cannot imagine being alone on Christmas day. I’m not creating the site for profit.
I may keep Making Cents Out of Life going, and do different things on both sites. If I can get organized, which would mean taking a week off from blogging and NOT being sick, I could easily do that and it would make things much more smooth.
I have lots of options. Right now I’m just upset that I let something I was so proud of and was trying so hard to do well go from getting successful to doing poorly and helping nobody.
So what I’m going to tell you is this. I’m going to be doing a lot of different things to the blog, but not really posting much, until next week when I let you know what’s going on. I have a lot of doctor’s appointments between now and then, so I have to do this in my “spare” time. I’m trying to get my life back, little by little, so please bare with me. I have piles of coupons, uncut and unsorted, from about 6 months, and I have piles of magazines and haven’t shopped in months…..all things I never thought would happen. It’s time I get started, huh?
Thank you for reading my soap box sob story, and I hope that you will please subscribe to my new site when the time comes because it would mean a lot to have your support. I’m excited about whatever the future brings, if I can just get a tiny bit of my life back. Having you all around as the support system you’ve been helps soooooooooooo much. Again, you know who you are
and I owe you all a big virtual hug.
I’m gonna let you go do something else now that I’ve bored you to tears!!
Thanks again, and have a great rest of your week!
KT
Hi All,
I will be posting normally again in a couple of days, God willing. I’m not sure what the future holds, hopefullly no more ER visits gone bad but whatever God has in sore for me I will get through. God bless him, my husband has had just as rough a time as I have had, although I got cut and stuck
, I’m just not sure which end I’d rather have. I at least got the good meds!
Anyway, as soon as I’m up to it and this infection is gone, I’ll be back to posting. I’ve missed it, whether or not anybody is reading! I’m going to try to have a special giveaway for my loyal readers becausae I know there are some of you who stop by and leave encouraging messages regardless of my posting. Love you girls!
I’ll talk to you soon! I’m going to run before my pain meds make me start crazy typing!
Hey everyone! This is Michael (Kristin’s husband)
First off, I hope all is well for everyone today! It’s been rainy here all day, and we’re stuck in the house! Yuck! Anyway, the reason I am posting here is to let everyone know that Kristin won’t be around for a couple of days. Yesterday she had to have emergency surgery. Everything is fine, she is OK and is home. However, she just won’t be feeling like blogging for a couple of days. You know how it is after you’ve been put to sleep.. takes a day or two to shake that “out of it” feeling!
She wanted me to make a quick post and let everyone know what was going on; that she was ok, and that it may be a couple of days before regular posting resumes.
Mike,
I am probably still alive, but probably not happy about it. My MRI results came back in, and to be honest I’m waiting on MY doctor to call back with a plan of attack because the results weren’t great. The doctor who read the MRI had his plan but he wasn’t aware that I was already seeing one of the doctors there (the very doc who delivered me) and he was aware of all of the wound care that was going on. I brought that up and have been waiting about 24 hours for somebody to call me back.
I know I will probably have to have IV antibiotics but how they will be administered is up in the air. We’re hoping for home health care and a PIC line rather than a hospital stay, but I want whatever is easiest on my husband. He needs some kind of a break, although he’d never admit it. As long as I continue to breathe he’ll never have a break, and I just don’t like being such a burden upon him. That’s something else he’d never say or admit, but how can it not be true?
So anyway, if I just stop being around for several days they decided to do IV at the hospital. I don’t know if they have WiFi but I DO know that if I have heavy pain killers I will not be allowed near a phone or my blog because I tend to, um, be crazy.
On top of all that, our water pump decided to die on us. Thank God for family is all I can say about that whole experience.
As you can imagine my nerves are hanging by a thread, and I’m not sure they’ll make it through the rest of the week….and it’s Tuesday!

You are really going to want to head on over to the Snapple Facebook page because right now you can snag a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Snapple coupon!!

I love when holidays roll around because that means freebies do too! Father’s Day is June 20 (yikes!) and the freebies are coming around like crazy!
I’m going to compile a list soon of the Father’s Day freebies, but as I will explain soon I haven’t been up to it or anything else the last 5 days. For now, enjoy a (kinda) free rootbeer float at Denny’s. You’ll understand why I said kinda at the end.
But…well, you gotta work for it. Everything that’s good is worth working for, right? It’s really not that much work, and it’s kinda fun.
First, go onto Denny’s Facebook page (you have to have a Facebook account obviously!) and use their Father’s Day card maker. You’ll be able to personalize your card with many different options. You will need to add a couple of pics of you and your dad from your PC or your Facebook profile, so nab some of those from somewhere if you have none.
To get the freebie, you’ll have to either send the card and coupon to Dad through Facebook, or if he hasn’t quite thrown himself into 2010 then you can download both and e-mail them to him. Not so bad, eh?
There is one final caveat that they don’t tell you until the very last paragraph of this deal, and that’s that you must order a meal from their regular menu or their value menu. THeir prices aren’t very bad, and their dollar menu is reasonable, so go hungry. This is one freebie that I’d only take advantage of if I’d already planned on Denny’s for the day
Enjoy!
You can find out more about the deal here.

Have you seen the new Red Baron pizza by the slice in your grocery store’s freezer aection yet? I have but I just can”t imatine paying that price for just 2 slices of pizza unless they’re HUGE. BUT….with this $2 coupon on Facebook I’ll gladly try them out.
All you have to do is get a Facebook account if you dont already have one, then go to the Red Barom page, click on coupon and print out the $2 Red Baron Pizza By The Slice coupon. I’m not sure how long it will last so you should probablly hurry!
Let me know how the pizza is!!

I love finding hot printables when I’m just blog hopping or playing around online especially when it’s for an item we need! Here are tje
I just wanted to let y’all know that posting will probably be light til around Sunday or Monday. I had my MRI and some wound care this week and it took it’s serious toll on me. My pain level skyrocketed because now there’s somewhere else to hurt, but it’ll go away in a day or two I hope.
I PROMISE grocery matches will start as of Sunday, and I’ll even post some for this week if I feel like getting to it later today. I haven’t shopped myself so I haven’t done any at all. I’m tired of frozen pizza, McDonald’s and take-out salads so I’m about ready to go grocery sshopping. Right now a big ol’ turkey burger is sounding good but the really lean meat is too hard to find, so I’ll have to wait on that. Oh well, dontcha love how a craving will hit at 4AM? Normal people are asleep but then there’s me…I went to bed at 8:15 so this is what I get!
Have a great weekend, and I should be around Sunday or Monday!
